GARDEN RENOVATION @ HOLLY HOUSE
MANY THANKS to all who helped!
Two Victoria Master Gardeners (Loredana & Carole) donated their time and expertise to design a new garden for Holly House. Volunteers pitched in to dig up the grass, shape the new flower beds, and lay the slate patio. Many people donated plants from their own gardens, and several local businessses made generaous contributions to the project. We have successfully transformed the front yard into a beautiful drought resistant sanctuary for residents.
In addition to Loredana & Carole, the staff, board members, & volunteers, Threshold Housing would like to recognize the support of:
Victoria Landscape-Gravel Mart
Stay tuned! Part-time staffer Penelope Hagan-Braun has had an article accepted for publication in a Canadian garden magazine featuring Threshold's garden project. It is expected to go to print in the fall of 2009 or spring of 2010.
Threshold receives funding from government, Anglican Churches, private foundations, and donations of money and furnishings from individuals and parishes. We always welcome support. You can help by:
· Attending events
· becoming a regular financial sponsor (for example, making a regular donation to help with hydro bills or house maintenance)
· becoming a mentor for residents who have an interest in your job or skill
· volunteering - we welcome new ideas and energy
· including us in your positive thoughts & prayers
· sending us a tax-deductible donation
