NEW: The Alexandra Kelley Rent Bursary Fund
This past spring we celebrated the life of Alexandra Kelley.  Sandy was a founding member of Threshold Housing Society, and after 20 years of service she was also our longest standing board member.  In her role as Correspondance Secretary, Sandy was writing thank you notes on behalf of Threshold right up to the last week of her life.  She was an active advocate for youth and a mentor to those around her.  The Alexandra Kelly Bursary Fund has been established in her memory to assist youth with rental costs when they do not have access to other resources.  Already 3 of our residents have benefitted from this support.

Threshold Housing received a generous grant from Telus to support arts, culture and recreation programs for our residents.  As a result youth were delighted to attended programs like: the Power of Hope arts and music camp, SALTS (Sail and Life Training), Spanish classes, and a Narcotics Anonymous youth convention in Montreal.  They also enjoyed household celebrations and recreation opportunities that support community-building within the houses and between the youth and their larger community.   We were delighted to receive this grant again for 2009-2010.
