A Note about Communion for Children:
All persons who are Baptised are welcome to receive the Blessed Sacrament at the time of the Communion of the People. This includes children, of course. If a child will be receiving the Blessed Sacrament, it is helpful to inform the priest. Children should come to the altar rail along with their parents, who can both teach and care for their children there. If the child is small, it is often more convenient if the priest places the Blessed Sacrament on their tongue, instead of in their hands. In any case, it is wonderful to have the children participate in offering the Holy Sacrifice each Sunday; in this way, they learn by doing as well as hearing.
